BBC web site makeover | September 6, 2003
Inspired by Doug Bowman's recent version of the new Yahoo search page, Pidster went looking for a likely target to test his CSS makeover skills. He didn't have to look far, selecting the BBC's news page as a worthy target.
In a homage to changing rooms, Pidster took up the mantle of makeover superstars Handy Andy and LLB, and set about turning BBC tag soup into valid mark-up. At the moment Pidsters version of the BBC news site is only in phase one and he himself admits that the CSS is a bit *nasty* and the page needs more testing.
However being a paid up member of the W3C, I hope this will be one makeover the owners will not go ballistic about.
NOTE: A recent article said that the majority of W3C members sites didn't validate, so if you want to get on the web site makeover bandwagon, This would be a good place to start.
