Amazon Ranking Gone Mad | March 2, 2006

I think the ranking system on Amazon.co.uk must be broken as it currently shows CSS Mastery as being in the top 25 sellers!

CSS Mastery is ranked 19 on Amazon.co.uk

Now that can’t be right!

Are you concerned that the bank balance doesn’t seem to tally with a top 25 best seller? :)

Doesn’t seems to strange seeing how great the book is. Also Amazon probably just looks back a few days to summarize their top sellers, so be happy as long as it lasts.

ps
One of the CS webs makes IE puke when resized to quite small.

Wow that must have cost you a fair bit! ;o)

Seriously though, its a superb book that fills a particular need in the market. Why not?

Having just read it myself, I can’t see why it wouldn’t be there. Absolutely excellent!

I’ll have to get me one of them when I’m back in the UK! You just need to enter the top 25 in the US now $$$$ :D

Isn’t it the sales rank for that particular day?

A good achievement nonetheless.

The positioning explanations and grpahics are top-notch. I’ve been coding CSS for years and they cleared up some things for me.

The IE bug explanations and graphics, as well, are awesome.

That, alone, is worth the $35.

It’ll probably help that Amazon have just knocked the UK price down to about £15 as well (along with Jeremy’s DOM Scripting book).

Not that I’m saying people will only buy it if it’s cheap, you understand. Though that was true of me. But then, I’m pretty tight.

Expectations are getting bigger now Andy…

The book is amazing. I just received it by mail two days ago and I can’t put it down. It’s being put to work in all my current projects and it reads smoothly as well, making it less of a chore to pick up than your average reference. Thanks for putting it out! Congrats, Andy

I can attest that this book is well worth the price, even more so if you ask me. I read it pretty much in one sitting. Congrats on the much deserved high Amazon ranking.

Forgot where I found out about this book (it was only about 30 minutes ago), but one thing I do know is, Ive ordered a copy of the book but have to wait “4 - 6 weeks” for it.

I guess good things come to those who wait.

The rank is 33 now in amazon UK, and btw you can use this to track sales rank in the different amazon stores.

I ordered the book last week along with DOM Scripting - Canada Post ended up sending it back to amazon so now I’m out of luck for a few weeks. Argh.

There is a copy in my local book store but it’s £23.99 or something, where as compman.co.uk has it for £17.99 with free delivery. BUT they are out of stock! It says the book is being reprinted. Any idea how long i’d have to wait?
