Stupid Social Network | February 17, 2008

There was a bit of a meme going round the Britpack mailing list last week, with people coming up with names for fictional social networks. Below are a few of my favourites, although please be aware that none of them are my idea and several are just plain WRONG! PC people or those with a sensitive disposition, look away now.

Floundr â€“ social network for struggling fishermen.
Tickr â€“ photo site for heart surgeons.
Fuckr â€“ the network for people with Tourette’s Syndrome
Wankr â€“ the network for porn addicts
Shittr â€“ social networking for sewage processing workers
Whoremongr â€“ social networking for pimps
MyFace â€“ for models
Losr â€“ for people who don’t know how to socialise in the real world. Oh wait, that’s already been done …
Grammr â€“ ironically titled social network for grammar pedants
Kiddyfiddlr â€“ obviously it’s a site aimed at children who happen to play the violin

“Shittr” was also proposed as a possible name for a site that had geolocations and reviews for public toilets/bathrooms/WCs. This was just before MizPee debuted— we knew it was too good an idea to not happen.
